[Reporter]: How long have you been in the design industry?
[Fu Zhenhui]: About eight years. After graduation, I basically engaged in the home improvement design industry, having projects in Xiamen and Changsha. At present, it is mainly in the Shenzhen market, focusing on the design of some luxury houses, villas, and high-end customers.
[Reporter]: I also asked about your experience in the industry just now. According to our outline, I have some questions and I want to communicate with you. In your opinion, what changes have been made in the interior design of the past two years, including residential ones?
[Fu Zhenhui]: Shenzhen is a coastal city with distinctive design trends and development trends, and is basically in line with international standards. In recent years, Shenzhen has launched a lot of villas and luxury houses. In accordance with national policies, there have been basically no independent villas since 2007. Therefore, many owners in this area respect high-end design. In addition, there is an obvious feature that owners have very high requirements for environmental protection awareness, including saving resources. These two areas have relatively high requirements for owners. From the perspective of our design, we will meet the individual requirements of the owner, which is also a challenge to the design.
[Reporter]: Personalized demand has increased, and high-end owners have higher requirements. Shenzhen is an immigrant city. The professional background of the owners, including their overseas life experience, raises the requirements of our design industry to a higher level. In the designer industry, there is a balance between professional value and commercial value. Especially for some designers who already have considerable work experience, it may involve making money by management or by designing well. This aspect is How to balance it?
[Fu Zhenhui]: Mainly based on personal development positioning. The vast majority of designers in Shenzhen are a combination of industry and art. A designer himself has studied this major and came from a class. The main reason for designing in Shenzhen is to combine what he has learned with the requirements of the owner. In the designer’s career, his own goal is of course to treat design as his own career, do better, and give himself a sense of accomplishment. However, after all, it is a commercial society. If the designer’s design works cannot be embodied in value, the so-called value manifestation is to be recognized by Party A. Party A uses material and monetary means to measure the value of the design, so that the designer has a better environment to The design is better. Therefore, the combination of commerce and art can make the designer’s design work more in place and fuller. Therefore, there are also the development characteristics and trends of the Shenzhen market.
[Reporter]: To get the approval of Party A and the owner, the most direct thing is to give you something in return. There is another thing that everyone pays more attention to. Where does the designer’s usual design inspiration come from? How to maintain the work passion? Because the work rhythm is relatively high in the society of Shenzhen, how do you get these materials?
[Fu Zhenhui]: From several aspects, first of all, now is the information age and network age, and the source channels are very wide. Designers use their spare time to browse the Internet frequently, search for some well-known international and domestic websites, and have an understanding of some development trends and trends. In addition, designers should absorb knowledge from all angles and angles in order to make their own designs well. Therefore, for us in our spare time to learn more about related industries, such as tourism, geography, customs, and some foreign histories, all of which require designers to use their spare time to master a lot.
In addition, in Shenzhen, various salon activities of the competent authorities, including industry regulatory departments, including design competitions, exchanges between the two places, etc., have greatly promoted the academic exchanges and ideological exchanges between designers. The discussion greatly enhances the designer’s information acquisition and broad vision, and exchanges some good things. Another, we use our spare time to participate in some exhibitions, including going abroad and some other good cities to participate in some academic exchanges, including visiting some more valuable classic buildings and history and gaining knowledge through various channels. Through these channels, continuously enhance the value, grasp the development trend and design direction.
[Reporter]: To master the things related to your profession, to improve your literacy through tourism, visits, and exhibitions. You are a relatively senior interior designer. As for how new designers or future designers should position themselves, please give some suggestions.
[Fu Zhenhui]: The design industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Many colleges and universities have opened this major, including some new designers, which have greatly promoted the development of this industry. Friends who enter the industry, we feel that we must first maintain our own characteristics, full of passion, more vigor, vitality, and new ideas, more active thinking, and innovation. These newcomers I hope that these newcomers should be maintained. . In addition, the design industry itself is a process of accumulation. You cannot take shortcuts. You should master the basic knowledge down-to-earth and lay a good foundation for becoming an excellent designer in the future. In addition, learning experience from some old designers who have a certain history and experience in the industry, I believe that it is possible to surpass these predecessors. The most important thing is to study with an open mind and not to be too impetuous. The opportunities given to you by society are equal. It mainly depends on your level of hard work. You must solidify your basic knowledge, improve your abilities and accomplishments, become a very good designer, and contribute to the design industry.
[Reporter]: These suggestions to designers are very pertinent. Now let me raise a question that everyone is more concerned about. The design industry has some professional subdivisions. For example, some specialize in model houses, some specialize in residential buildings, and some even classify residential buildings in detail, only luxury houses, etc. . Does this kind of professional positioning have any restrictions or influences on our own development in this industry? For example, once we do more and more specialized in one aspect, will it affect other aspects?
[Fu Zhenhui]: I don’t think so. Because everyone who develops in this industry has their own development direction, making a type of design more refined and in place can reflect their own value, and there will be more opportunities for designers to play, I think this is not It will affect other aspects of the designer too, because the basic things of your own design are all interlinked. As long as you do well in this category, you won’t be able to do well in the other category, because the aesthetic appeal is basically related. In a period, a certain field will spend more energy and make more effects. This is also a very good role for me to dig deeper into the design. For a designer, having such an opportunity, I think it should be a very good thing, so it is not necessary to divide oneself into a major, as long as the designer works hard and the society gives him the opportunity, he can do his best to do a good job. , I think there will be no conflict.
[Reporter]: That is to say, if you are specialized in a certain field, it is equivalent to the core value is reflected, and then in related fields, you can generally do it as long as you have the opportunity. To use an analogy, just like an actor’s play, playing this role does not mean that other roles cannot be played. There have been many discussions on this topic, and there is a hot topic that has been talked about a lot in the past two years. Interior design has been developing in Shenzhen for several years, and some design works have begun to “prominent hot”, and there have been many solo albums in these two days. , What do you think of this phenomenon?
[Fu Zhenhui]: I think this is a good thing because other categories in our country have this atmosphere and trend. Because this in itself is a record of the designer’s work, showing it to others, and sharing it with others. In addition, you can also make yourself more solid in your professional knowledge so that you have a sense of accomplishment, and it is also a warm-up for your career. As long as the content of his book is acceptable to everyone, and can benefit from it, and contribute to society, as long as it is harmless, it is also good for oneself, I think it is a very reasonable thing.
[Reporter]: If there are some that are more famous and well done, everyone will buy them. If there are some that are not recognized by their peers in a real sense, I believe that Party A may not necessarily disagree. Now everyone is discussing that Shenzhen should be the “Design Capital”. We are based on this background. The designers of Shenzhen are also part of this “Design Capital”. In the past, Hong Kong was relatively strong in this area. What do you think of the development of interior design in Shenzhen and Hong Kong? Are we still a lot behind it, or are we close to or even surpassing in some places?
[Fu Zhenhui]: In the past two years, the competent government departments have taken design as a key project, and they have also proposed to build a design capital. I think it is very good. It is good news and hope for our designers. We are full of confidence in the future of the design industry. From the comparison of the design industry in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, after all, Hong Kong still has historical origins. From the perspective of economic development and its own regional characteristics, Hong Kong has always been in the international field in terms of design. After years of development, including the support and creation of the government and regulatory authorities, the development and progress of the design industry in Shenzhen have been greatly improved, especially the close integration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and the integration of designers, including a large number of Hong Kong designers, do projects in Shenzhen, including Shenzhen designers who go to Hong Kong to do some projects. The gap between the two places is gradually narrowing.
The scope of Hong Kong is not very large. Shenzhen occupies a very wide area, and many high-end designers have come to Shenzhen for development. Shenzhen is also very attractive. It can be said that Shenzhen has gathered the best designers in the country, and the most The works and design value of excellent designers have also been greatly improved. Therefore, I think the gap is getting smaller and smaller. It can be said that to some extent or in some areas, it even surpasses Hong Kong. I think the current situation is like this.
[Reporter]: Can you give me an example of which projects the designers in Shenzhen are not only inferior or even better than those in Hong Kong?
[Fu Zhenhui]: I personally think that in terms of hotel design, it has surpassed Hong Kong, because China has developed very rapidly in the past two years. The government has made great efforts to cultivate the hotel industry, entertainment industry, and tourism, which gives designers a lot of room for development. . In recent years, domestic design cases in the hotel category abound, and many have won Asia-Pacific awards. So I think the design of the hotel is already ahead.
